Hovio — Privacy Policy

Hovio ("the app", "we", "us") is a home records & maintenance app that lets you keep your home information, appliances, warranties, receipts, documents, maintenance reminders and repair history in one place. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name (if provided), email address, and profile photo URL to create your account. We do not use email/password accounts.
• Content you add. The home records you create — homes, appliances, documents and uploaded files (PDFs/images), maintenance tasks, repairs and photos, and any notes — are stored so the app can show them to you and people you share a home with.
• Device messaging token. If you enable notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging token to deliver reminders.
• Diagnostics & usage. We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand basic feature usage and to diagnose crashes, so we can improve the app and fix problems.

We do not use the Advertising ID and we do not serve ads or sell your personal data.

How we use information

• To provide the app: store and display your home records and sync them across your devices and household members.
• To send maintenance and warranty reminders you set up.
• To keep the app reliable and secure (crash diagnostics, abuse prevention).

Sharing

We do not sell your data. Information is processed by our infrastructure provider, Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics), which stores data on Google Cloud in the United States. Records within a home are visible to the members you invite to that home, according to their role (owner, editor, viewer).

Data retention & deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, which removes your sign-in, leaves shared homes, deletes homes you solely own, and flags your profile for deletion. You may also contact us to request deletion of your data.

Security

Access is restricted by Firebase Authentication and security rules so that only members of a home can read or modify its records. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Google Cloud.

Children

Hovio is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Use in-app account deletion or contact us to exercise these rights.

Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app or via the store listing.
